I have what I believe is a 2nd degree burn from boiling hot water.  I got it accidentialy while cooking.  Unfortunatley it is on my breast.  I have to keep cloting on that area.  It has been a few days and now it is very dry looking with an area a little bit bigger than a quarter that is yellowish.  I don't know what is okay to put on it.  Some articles say to use ointment and others say not to. Any suggestions?  I'd like to recover with as little scarring as possible.

    Hi There,
    Lets remove the blister and wash it very well with soap and warm to tepid water. Coat the burn with neosporin and cover with gauze and a bandage to hold things in place. Do this whenever the bandage gets wet or soiled but at least twice a day for the next 7 days and then once a day as the burn stops seeping fluid. Don't let it dry out! keep it moist with the neosporin. Afetr the burn stops being too sensitive to touch, use a moisturizer/protective cream like eucerine, A&D cream or Mederma (all over the counter stuff at the pharmacy.) Takes about 14 to 21 days to heal. Use some sunblock after that for at least 30 days after the bandage comes off.
