I would have to agree and say I would build my franchise around Andrew Luck. Especially with RG3 coming off of a serious knee injury. With RG3 his legs are just as important as his vision and arm, and who knows what problems this knee injury can lead to. Also, the quarterback position is easily the most important position in football. Andrew Luck demonstrated skill, matureity, vision, inteligence, and dedication beyond his age. Also, given his young age he can play at a high level for the next 12 to 15 years which is something you cannot say for Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, or Aaron Rodgers. If you don't believe me, check these stats out. Luck took a 2-14 team and turned them into an 11-5 team in one season by throwing for an NFL rookie record 4,374 yards, along with 23 passing TDs, over 250 yards rushing with 5 rushing TDs, 6 300 plus passing yard games, including a single game rookie record 433 yards, and 7 game winning/4th quarter drives, another rookie record. He did all of this with a below average offensive line, running game, and one of the worse defenses in the league. What else, the organizaton has made more improvements on the defense and bolstered the offensive line, and have given him even more weapons to work with. No wonder he was considered arguably the greatest prospect ever to enter the NFL draft.

This is an extremely interesting question on many fronts. There are so many positions in football, however it is a widely held belief that quarterback is by far the most important. It is the person considered to be the leader of the team and the one who calls the shots on offense. The fact that the league has become more passing focused year over year only adds further value.

There are a lot of quality QBs in todays game. The deciding factor here would be age, as having someone who is just beginning to reach their peak versus someone who only has 4 years left but is a Hall of Fame player would be better for your organization long term.

Given that, my choice over legends Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, two of the best to ever do it, and beyond Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers would be Andrew Luck, last year's number 1 overall draft pick. He is not only intelligent and cerebral, but has a wonderfully accurate arm and is a very efficient runner. He is a prototype and the one I would pick to lead my team for 12-14 years.
