Bushnell ONIX 400 GPS this require subscription to a monthly service to work?

   According to Bushnell's website, yes, you need the subscription for Weather & Radio to work.

   If you want the added services from XM like radio and weather.  And if you want the satellite photos you need to buy them from Bushnell directly (but unlimited downloads cost only $30/yr).  However, the actual GPS features will work out of the box with no additional fees.
