Hi

Can I apply for permanent residence in Canada as I have taken asylum from my country? What are the chances for such cases? I am in a great need of help, as I am living in Iraq and there are no perfect conditions to stay here in my own country. Can you give me some good information about asylum?

Thanks

    Hello there

There are different communities and people who are taking asylum in Canada for obvious reasons. Hence it has been recorded that different war affected countries of Asia and Africa are taking asylum in Canada. For your concern about taking asylum and then applying for the Permanent Residence I must tell you if you are approved refugee than you can take asylum and after that you can apply.

There is no hard and fast rule, as the immigration department of Canada will look into the matter seriously and review your application for PR. But you have to follow a logical sequence and must go through proper channel. Illegal refuges are not welcomed here, hence there is no chance for you to apply for asylum or PR. I hope it is quite clear now, but still if you have something in your mind than do consult me here. I let u know if I have the comprehensive information about your queries.

You can also consult some immigration lawyer for further information if you have any confusion in your mind.

    Thanks
