Just like the world recession recently faced by a common man it was a recession faced by Americans between 1929 and 1933. Just imagine of a rich economy doomed at once. What else could be the better reason for great depression!

Well, it was actually the economic downturn in which the investments ceased, employment opportunities got stopped, companies started lying off people and so all these brought the great depression.

A number of causes led to a loss of confidence in the American economy between 1929 and 1933. This loss of confidence led to the great depression. A number of factors conspired to take the United States economy into a terrible depression in the 1930's. The actual reason for the depression was a general loss of confidence in the American economy. The reason it got so bad was a general misunderstanding of recessions by American policy-makers of the time.
