I am a resident of Toronto. I purchased a new Danby DPAC1203 portable air condition about five years ago from a major reputable dealer. The warranty is expired. A week ago from writing this, during a major heat wave, the air conditioner suddenly started to make a horrid noise; bits of plastic shot out into the air like knives. Upon investigation the turbine fan had shattered. Danby Canada got back to me within 24 hours with no traceable inventory of this part. "Buy a new one" was the answer. I'm not willing to accept (just yet) that I have an air conditioner that cannot be fixed. Searches for part number 1.3.01.10 come up blank. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciate before I roll this piece of junk into Lake Ontario and drown it.
