Memorial Day is a day of United States federal holiday which was observed on the last Monday of May in the year 2011. It was previously known as the Decoration Day, it is in the memory of US soldiers who have died during their Military service. It is the day to celebrate the Union and Confederate soldiers of American Civil War. It is for all the Americans who have died in all the wars.

This day often marks the beginning of the summer vacation season and the end of Labor Day. It Began as a ritual of remembrance and reconciliation during the Civil War, it was in the early 20th century. This day is an occasion for general expressions of the memory, as there are ordinary people who visit the graves of their deceased relatives, whether they had served in the military or not. It became a very long weekend that was devoted to shopping, family get to gathers, fireworks, trips to the beach and national media such as Indianapolis 500 and the Coca Cola auto races.

On the other hand Day of the Dead focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and the remembrance of people who have died. It is mostly celebrated in Mexico. It is observed as a National holiday in this country.
