I have some windows 3.1 programs on CD, which were perhaps developed to run under Windows 3.1 that one is able to run on Win 95, Win XP and Win Vista. All the windows 3.1 programs, such as windows 3.1 calendar are 32 bit systems and perhaps, the manufacturing companies of such software no longer exist. None of the available windows 3.1 programs install on Windows 7 Home Premium, which is 64 bit – (I am talking about the version installed on my laptop). I tried my best to set compatibility properties under SETUP.EXE file to Win 95, but still it does not install. So, I want to know whether windows 3.1 programs run on windows 7 ultimate or not? I am looking for your kind help to solve my problem. Thanks!

Well, there are multiple solutions to your problem, but the one I think would be the best one for you to give it a try is as follows:
1. Run your desired windows 3.1 program in the compatibility mode of Win XP and monitor its result. In order to accomplish this, please follow these guidelines properly: i. Click on program setup option or rather simply launch the file and go for its Properties. ii. Go to the Compatibility option. iii. Check the mark run this program in compatibility mode, under relevant section and choose SP2 of Win XP from the list. iv. Then, click on the mark to check run this program as an admin under privilege level section. v. Click to save the changes. vi. Once done, open the program and review it. Good luck!
