The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 will be assembled at the Brampton Assembly plant, located in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and will be available in showrooms at the end of 2011.

It will be equipped with the new 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 creating more torque and horsepower than the 6.1-liter HEMI V-8. In additional, it will offer better fuel economy.

The expected power ratings for the Dodge Charger SRT8 2012 are 465 horsepower, having 465 lb.-ft. of torque that might include additional 80 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm. The Specific torque, horsepower and fuel economy numbers will be announced near to the vehicle introduction.

The car will be built on standard Fuel Saver technology which is also used in the new 6.4 HEMI V-8. Its new adaptive valve exhaust system helps to engage over a wider rpm range. It gives improved fuel efficiency.  You can utilize all eight cylinders when the power is required.

Chrysler Group LLC SRT has first time introduced standard paddle-shift technology that joins the standard AutoStick on the floor shifter. Both are mated to the verified W5A580 five-speed automatic transmission, gives an option of spirited shifting on the road and the racetrack. Option of active intake multiple and high-lift catamshaft with cam phasing provides maximum low-end torque for excellent standing starts while optimizing high-end power.

Both shifting techniques provide the driver assistance in shifting while the transmission controller calibration avoids situations that may over rev the engine. Fully adaptive electronic control of all shifting creates the powertrain very responsive and also minimizes harshness.

It has improved new hydraulic steering system with heavy-duty pump and revised gearing that provides direct feel.
