   Hi,
   I will need an exact model number on that one to be sure, but Haier produces European and American versions of their products. If you are in the US and purchased a European variant, then the AC Adapter will not work in US because we use a 5V system and the rest of the world uses a 110V system. You will either need to get it replaced for a US variant, or buy a transformer - tell Radio Shack, Circuit City or some KNOWLEDGEABLE store (aka, not wal-Mart) that you need a 110V to 5V transformer.
   
   On the other hand, your variant could be for the right country, and the thing is just broke - return it now while you still can.
