I have read this on the internet from some alumni students.Have any higher education sources, rejected diplomas from Continental Academy?I enrolled in the virtual school program in September09. Continental Academy was dropped in 2010 from their accreditation agency(Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).

I tried returning my diploma and getting a refund but all I got was excuses. I wasted my f**ckn time and money with Continental Academy and got nothing but an expensive piece of paper out of it. THEY SHOULD ROTTEN EVERY NIGHT THEY GO TO SLEEP.
I was in tears when I got rejected from CC and WAS told my diploma was not accredited from Continental Academy and that I would have to get my GED.
Luckily, I heard on the radio about secretgedloophole.com and this time did my research and it turned to be positive since I didnt find anything negative so I joined and completed my High School diploma online 100%. It is properly accredited and I am enrolled at Tri-C in Cleveland Ohio, and they verified my diploma and transscripts and told me they were familar with their recommended schools, so thank god I wasn't scammed twice.
Hope to get Cont Academy closed down.

I had a very good experience with Continental Academy. I tried night school and the GED several times with no success. I graduated from the pace program and was able to get a job promotion with my high school diploma from Continental Academy. Not everyone can succeed in an attendance based program.

No. Continental Academy is an accredited high school and they are accredited by the National Association for the Legal Support of Alternative Schools (NALSAS) since year 2000. There are many accrediting associations in the United States. NALSAS and the Home School Legal Defense Association have made significant contributions in making homeschooling legal in all 50 states. In my opinion, the best education is for a student to be sitting in front of a teacher in a classroom however, if that cannot happen for whatever reason, Continental Academy is certainly a good alternative. My neighbor’s son graduated from Continental Academy this year, obtained 18 community college credits, and is now serving in the U.S. Army. My neighbor told me that if was not for Continental Academy, her son would have never graduated from high school. I can see that an attendance based high school program is not for everyone.

Yes it is true they are not accredited by a real accreditor. I have applied to more than 10 different colleges community and university and all applications are rejected on the basis that continental academy lost their regional accreditation Jan 1st 2010. Furthermore they only had it 3 and a half years. Every college I apply to also likes to mention that NALSAS is not a qualifying accreditor and has no clout in the education world. To all of those who got a job for their continental academy diploma, good for you your employers don't care about legitimate diplomas and that certificate you have will work with most employers not requiring you to further your education. However for everyone else who is interested in going to college and not becoming a security guard for a rest home or taco bell shift manager you will have to find another path. Thank you continental academy for wasting my time and money. To the father with the son who got a diploma thanks to this school. Unfortunately your son will never go to college also thanks to this school. To all the guests posting this school is accredited, why are you here trying to deceive these people? You should be trying to help them but I guess if continental is still signing the checks stick to your guns as long as you sleep at night right?
I earned my high school diploma from Continental Academy in August 2010 and I'm currently taking classes at my community college. I plan on being there for two years and will transfer those credits to my state university. I enjoyed Continental Academy's online curriculum and I have no complaints.
No. They have been accredited by NALSAS since year 2000.
I have many freinds who graduated from COntinental Academy BEFORE 2010 and they all go a comminutiy college now. However, I did hear that this same cllege that accepted those peopel, will no longer accept new students with a COntinental Academy diploma, and that is effective Jan. 2010.
If you demonstrate that you have good academic skills by meeting the college's admissions requirements for homeschoolers and having a high score on a standardized test such as the SAT or ACT exam, you have a very good chance of being accepted by the college of your choice. You can walk on ANY college campus in America and not everyone graduated from a SACS or regionally accredited high school. Students come from all walks of life and not everyone has the academic skills necessary to meet the admissions requirements of the college. I have been homeschooled since third grade and many of my friends that have graduated from a SACS or regionally accredited high school have applied to colleges and the military and they have not been accepted due to the fact that they do not have the ability to meet the admissions requirements.
No. Continental Academy has been accredited by NALSAS since year 2000. I graduated from Continental Academy in 2002 and now have my bachelor's degree in Biology. It's funny how the Continental Academy graduates that are complaining on this page have not talked about returning their diploma. It's obvious that Continental Academy's diploma has value and they have used it or are using it and they have no interest in returning the diploma.
