Effective treatments to prevent the long-term allergic symptoms of stings and bites include the following homeopathic remedies:
Urtica Urens is particularly effective for allergic reactions to bites. It is useful for stinging, burning, violent itching and crawling sensations on the skin.
Staphysagria  is effective at repelling mosquito bites and reducing symptoms in the unlikely event of being bitten.
Apis Mellifica is effective for insect stings and bites that are hot, red, swollen and puffy looking. Cold compresses help soothe and relieve the pain
Ledum is effective for bites and stings where the injured area is cold and discolored. Cold applications will help relieve symptoms.
Lachesis is effective at relieving symptoms from snakebite, but always seek immediate medical attention.
It is a good idea to always have these remedies on hand when going camping or on a picnic. To maintain effectiveness avoid continual exposure to heat. Always consult with a qualified homeopathic practitioner for proper dosages and other factors unique to each individual.
