   To boil an egg is an easy task as it is simple to prepare it. Here are few instructions that will tell you how to boil an egg in easy and safe manner.
   
   1. Place an egg in a saucepan.
   
   2. Fill the saucepan with water until the water reaches above 1 inch to the egg.
   
   3. Place the saucepan on a stove and cook it on medium heat until the water begins to boil.
   
   4. Now reduce the heat to low.
   
   5. If you like to eat soft-boiled eggs then boiled it for 2 to 3 minutes or if you like to eat hard-boiled eggs then boil the egg for 10 to 15 minutes.
   
   6. Remove the egg with the help of a spoon and let it cool slowly, or run cold water over it in order to cool it more quickly.
   
   7. Do not overcook your eggs because it can cause a green ring to appear around the egg yolk as egg contains iron and sulfur. It will not only affects the taste but also hurt the protein quality.
