Does anyone know of any piece of saw that can convert a pdf file to word cleanly?
I have a document with lots of formatting and when I use Adobe 6.0 to convert the pdf file to word all the formatting gets messed up or any ideas on how to make the pdf file editable?

Go to the following website where you can download the "Solid PDF Creator" software for FREE.  It works as a virtual 'printer'. That means that it is installed as a printer that you can select via your Word control panel.  Then when you want to convert ANY document to a PDF file follow these steps.
    1. make sure that Solid PDF Creator has been selected as your printer.
    2. select print in the usual manner, whether it is the whole document or just a highlited part of it.
    3. In the setup or preferences section of the Solid PDF Creator you will have specified the folder or Desktop or wherever you want the pdf file saved. So go to that location and your the file you wanted converted to a pdf document will be there with the same title, unless you change the title during the printing process.
    4. This pdf creation can be done by "printing" any file including pages on your browser.
    5. Remember to reset to your regular printer when you want the print command to print stuff to it, otherwise everytime you select 'Print' it will create another PDF document.

I use this all time and find it to be very convenient since you can send a PDF document to anyone who does not have your particular word processing software.

Sorry, I misread your question. PDFZilla seems to do a decent job.  After the conversion you can change the font type and size if the one used by the software does not appeal to you. Sometimes font type/size has to be changed to may text fit properly. Overall, I like it.  There is a free version and a retail version you can download from:

You certainly can convert an adobe file to editable word file

but if you think that all OCRs convert the document 100% into

editable format then you are about to make a costly mistake.

Your converted document is bound to have errors which you need

to remove ( unless of course your original is a picture

perfect document). No OCR on this planet guarantees 100%

correct conversion in all documents all the time.

Therefore it is extremely important that you must proof read

your editable format document before you start to edit. If you

don't do that it can be a very expensive mistake you made in

    life.

Some people (including me ) pay $2.0 per+ per page and get it

edited by experienced staff on a paid site like

    http://www.onlinedocumentconversion.com as mentined in

    lyndajohn's post above.
