How do I troubleshoot my DSi?

Every app you click on my DSi the screen will turn black and say: An error has occurred. Press and Hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting. problem is i lost the manual! how do i troubleshoot it?

     Turn off then turn it back on until you not find the error.
