Before calling for service, see if you can fix the machine yourself. Find and locate the user manual and the two wrenches that came with the machine. The user manual provides general guidance for trouble shooting and fixing the machine. You will need the manual and special wrenches to help fix the excessive noise complaint.

    Step 2

If your machine sounds like a jet trying to take off when it runs the rinse and spin cycles, chances are it is off balance. To fix this problem, read your user manual's instructions for adjusting the balance. Find your user manual, read it, and have a flashlight and the two special wrenches that came with the machine handy. The feet on the Tromm washer are easy to adjust, but you need the wrench that comes with the machine. If you don't have it, check through your toolbox for an adjustable wrench. You can adjust the feet without lifting the washing machine.

    Step 3

Before adjusting the washing machine balance, if you have a new machine, make sure that the four travel bolts are off of the machine. The Tromm washing machines are shipped with four bolts attached to the machine to keep it secure. If you do not remove them, the machine cannot function and makes a horrible sound. See the user guide and manual to locate the shipping bolts on your machine and for instructions on how to remove them.

    Step 4

Before running the washer, gently grasp it and see if it rocks. If it rocks, the feet may be off balance. Take about six pounds of laundry and run the washer on "Normal" cycle. When it comes to the Rinse and Spin cycles, be ready. Use your special wrench and adjust the feet according to the user manual. You'll know you are successful when the machine stops making the big banging noise. Some vibration and shaking is normal. You won't be able to stop it entirely, but the big banging noises should stop.

    Step 5

If your washing machine is on the pedestal base, adjust the feet of the pedestal, not the washing machine itself. The pedestal platform also needs to be balanced. Again, follow that user manual carefully!

    Step 6

Many people complain about a strong mildew or mold smell in the Tromm LG Steam Washing Machine. The problem is caused by excessive water inside the drum and improper maintenance. The User Manual recommends running a 'tub cleaning' cycle every few months. Follow the directions to run this cycle. It is run without laundry and detergent, just water.

    Step 7

Always dry off the door, rim and seal after each laundry. Keep a clean rag in the laundry room and gently run it around the inside of the door. If you do not have pets or small children, you can also leave the washer door open. NEVER do this if you have pets or children! They can become locked inside the machine and suffocate
