What is it that you want to say? Do you want to make idle promises that you probably can’t keep just to win their vote? Or do you want to make an impression on them by emphasizing their issues as being your concern? Here are a few suggestions on how to write a political campaign speech. Begin by not promising anything you can’t do. Even if it’s something you really want to do, don’t promise you’ll do it unless you know for a fact that you can. Before you begin writing the speech, investigate the people you’ll be speaking to. Learn their issues, their needs and their hopes in you as their elected. Become as informed as possible about the things that concern them as members of that community. Once you know their issues and concerns, you can research the appropriate avenues to learn what steps have been taken, if any, to resolve any of these issues. If nothing has been done or could be done, find out why not and what possible solutions could be derived to settle these concerns. Learn what this community does for special events, targets, political agendas, health issues etc. Find out what has put them on them map metaphorically and what makes them unique. Begin your speech by getting the audience to be one minded with you. Praise their community, compliment their environment and their dedication to whatever program or charitable organization they represent. Win their attention and their hearts by showing them that you know who they are and that they are the reason America is still free.
