Import an SWF file by selecting "Import to Library" from the File menu at the top of the program. Once the file has been imported, open the Library panel from the "Window" menu, then click and drag your file to the stage.
Select the Text tool, which is located on the toolbar on the left side of the screen, and click within the main stage area to add text to your file. Properties like font, size and color can be adjusted using the "Properties" panel on the right.
Select the Shape tool, which has an icon of a rectangle, to add shapes. You can also select other shapes, such as circles or polygons, by holding "Alt" and clicking the tool several times. Adjust the fill and stroke color using the Properties panel.
Select the Paintbrush tool to draw custom art. The size of the brush can be adjusted at the bottom of the toolbar. If you have a graphical tablet, you can apply pressure sensitivity there also. Adjust the color using the Properties panel.
Select the Free Transform tool, which looks like a rectangle with dots around it, to re-size any element on the stage. Click the element once, then click and drag any of the eight points that appear to size it in that direction. Hold "Shift" to make the re-size proportional.
Double-click your SWF element, if it is a movie, to view the individual frames. To remove an element or shorten the duration, click a frame within the Timeline panel and press "Delete." Click "Scene 1" underneath the project tab to return to the main stage.
Export your file by selecting "Export Movie" from the File menu. Select the file destination and click "OK."
