How to manually check backlinks in Google search engine?

I would like to know if there is a way to see a if my link on the search engines is still there or has been removed. How can I do that manually?

    you can check the back link for a particular site via Google webmaster tool, yahoo site explorer and bing webmaster. And if you want to check a back link for other site, you need to use Google, yahoo, bing for checking it manually
