In general, Windows XP and newer will simply see this device as a removable storage device. Just plug it into the USB port and Windows will set it up as a storage drive. You can just use Windows explorer to drag and drop mp3 music to this device. Or, Windows Media Player will let you sync to this device, but the play lists do not come over because the player does not support Windows Media Player. This seems to be just like the cheap little mp3 players, but it has a touch screen and can play video. It will let you select songs as Favorites, but that's the closest thing to a play list I can find. I found a slightly better user manual for the SMPK8854 (no B) at http://www.curtisint.com/web/category-Sub.asp?category=MP3s&subCat=MP3&catName=MP3%20PLAYERS&p=5. This Curtis website is where www.sylvania.com lead me to for more info.

OK guys, I followed the link provided a couple of comments ago ( www.hbci.com/~jkanz/SMPK8854-B/smpk8854b_sylvania.htm ) and I have been able to load 2 Movies on my Player( Air Force One & Temple Of Doom )each after conversion took 1.25GB )quality of picture is almost equal to watching the dvd on HD TV. Also the Touch Screen Feature is working much better. Follow the directions on the link, I think you'll be happy.
