I'm only 12, and brown stuff started coming maybe 1 or 2 days ago....I don't have pads tho, and I don't wanna tell my mom...I'm so scared, I'm crying...what can I do? Is ths normal? How often do they happen? Do I just relax and let it go thru? When will it stop?

First, NEVER flush pads! It clogs the toilet! And don't be scared. It's just a part of life. I have all those symtoms and I got my period a little while ago. You might get cramps, but it depends. The symptoms are different from everyone. But if that time is coming, keep some extra pads and a pair of underwear in your locker! You don't want to use the nurse's hand-me-downs! If it happens at school, you have all the stuff in your locker! And if it happens in class, don't be afraid to go ask to go to the bathroom! They will understand. If they ask why just say, "Its personal." Then they will get it! Even if your teacher is a boy, thy get it every year! And don't be scared. It's kind of exciting! It means you are growing up and becoming a woman! Good Luck!

Periods are nothing to be scared off. Every girl goes through them. When i first told my mum it was really embarrasing but once you have told her then it is absolutely fine. If you really dont want to tell your mum just yet perhaps go into town with your friends and get some pads, or ask an older sister or friends that have already started. The 'poo marks' are just old blood which has come out. This means that your proper period should come in a few months. For me it was around 2/3 months after. It shouldn't last long the 'poo marks' and it should go back to normal again. But trust your intincts if you have a bit of a stomach ache or just have a feeling something might come put a panty liner on (you can buy them from superdrug or boots and they are really usful when you are having brown stuff. In my experience the brown stuff lasted a few days each month andf then one month it was blood. I wasnt at all ready for it and had no pads with me so make sure you are always prepared. you should use pads first and only when you are comfortable should you start to wear tampons. I hope this has helped. Good Luck. xx

I'm also 12. I told my mom I am scared to start my period. She said don't worry about it. Every girl goes through it. And that is a fact but I'm still terrified. Me and my 2 friends always talk about periods and we always ask and tell each other if we started it yet. None of us started our periods yet. I go swimming a lot and I'm so scared I might start my period in the pool without any safty. I'm scared I might start my period during cheer practice. I just cant get it out of my head. What do I do ): My period is gonna start anytime soon. ):

  17. Guest5056

Okay, girlies:) I'm 14, and I thought I would calm you all down a bit. Getting your period is absolutely nothing to be afraid of. In fact, it proves that you are becoming a young woman. Every girl goes through it, so you are not alone here. For those who are scared that they will start their period all of a sudden and not be prepared, don't be scared. When you first begin your period, it should be very light, probably brown. Therefore, it will not be enough to show through your clothes or anything. Once you do start your period, it will not be anything easy or something that you enjoy, of course. However, it is not as bad as you all are a fraid it will be. Stop worrying yourself so much. You will get your period when you get it;)

<p>That means that you HAVE started your period. I am 11 years old and I stared my period two days ago. It isn'y scary, but you NEED to keep pads or a tampon or two in your school backpack or in your purse of you have one. But if your going to tell your parents, You can tell just your mom or just your dad...but you HAVE to be comfortable about it. I told my mom, and now I'm not scared of what my Mom would do. And I know how it feels when you feel like when you have stomach cramps, when you feel like your fat when your not-Fatigue- When you feel swelled or stuffed and you don't want to eat-Bloating- etc.

ADVICE: When you have a tampon inside you, You can only keep it in for 7-8 hours a day. And when you go swimming, you should keep it in, or you have a choice to put a pad on.

Don't be scared about this. I know I was before I started my period, but it's not scary.

Don't flush a pad or tampon down the toilet!!!! :-P

Your sisters may ask if you did start..and if you want to tell them the truth, then do. But if your uncomfortable, you don't have to. My 5 sisters know. Even my younger sister. And even my best friend. My friend is just like you....she was scared about it. But I told her about it, and she's okay now. So don't be afraid abou it...be comfortable with it!

im 13 and I started last year, i was petrified, i didnt know what to do i was thinking how to tell my mum ie, Should i put the bloody knickers down to wash for my mum too see the blood and then come to me and say have you started? But when you actually start you get used to it. I dont get no pains, and all my friends complain there bellys hurt and im like mine dont. Some people are scared to go for a poo, thats normal but nothings going to happen. It shoudlnt hurt. But DONT flush pads,Tampons down the toilet, Wrap them up in tissue and put them in a bin. You should be happy you have started, it shows your a grown woman, I hope this helped. x*x

i'm only just 13 and i think i've just started, im realllllyyyy upset and crying, i don't wanna  become a young woman!?!? im not prepared for this, i see all these girls walking round normally and think 'how the h**l can they do that!?' im too scared to talk to my mum about it cos when i started into pubity she didn't take it too well, how am i meant to cope, my two best friends haven't started and compared to me it just seems like they're having the time of they're life! i don't want to be controlled by it and its a real shock just like the begining of pubity but i got over that so hopefully i'll get over this :S
