Is Cathay Pacific liable for loss of valuable from baggage?

I travelled through Cathay Pacific but some valuables of mine our not present in the baggage, if Cathay Pacific is liable to pay for these goods.

    Cathay Pacific do not assume liability for any loss of, damage to or delay in the delivery of any valuable items contained in checked or cabin baggage.
