Yes, it is true that the Shaquille O'Neal is returning to sports but not to play NBA again, he may have retired from the NBA, but he's putting all that expertise to use. He'll soon be returning to sports as a "sports analyst". Shaq has signed a multi-year agreement with Time Warner’s Turner Sports to serve as an analyst over its NBA programming, including TNT’s studio show, starting with the 2011/2012 season, according to a report.

Shaq said “I can’t wait to begin my new career with Turner”.

President of sales, distribution and sports for Turner, David Levy said Shaq would complement the network. “His exclusive insights, viewpoint as one of the league’s all-time great players and character will be the flawless support to our award-winning studio group of Ernie [Johnson], Kenny [Smith] and Charles [Barkley], as well as to our programming on NBA television and NBA.com.”

Although Shaq lately left from the NBA after 19 seasons, the deal will make him a part of the network’s NBA All-Star weekend, NBA playoffs reporting and provider to NBA television and NBA.com.

“Over the past few years the group at Turner has taken the NBA and amusement, in general, to a total new level. I’m appreciative for the opening to connect the astonishing group at 'Inside the NBA' and I wish I can farther the fans’ know-how on a normal basis," Shaq said.

As an elongation to the deal, Shaq has made deal with Turner’s amusement and animation networks.
