The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a mid size four wheel drive vehicle which lies in the category of Toyota Land Cruiser and works under the brand of Toyota Motor Corporation. The Prado is one of the smaller vehicle in its range. The vehicle is marketed in different parts of the world like Caribbean and other large parts of Africa. In Europe, Land Cruiser is known as LC3, LC4 or LC5 with number series designation of LC 70, LC 90 and LC 120. In North America it is not considered as a part of Land Cruiser range, instead of being sold as the Lexus GX 470, also it has the identical body panel and a potent V8 engine.

Toyota’s Land Cruiser Prado is available in GX, GXL and VX specifications version. The GX is the entry level model, while the VX is much more luxurious version. In most of the markets it is available with a 4.0 litre petrol V6 or 3.0 L Diesel engine. There were three gasoline engines available with different options, such as 2.4 litre, 22R Petrol engine and a 2.4 litre 2L and 2L-T diesel and turbo engines. The 22R gasoline engines were upgraded to 22R-E engine, and the diesel engine were replaced by 2.8 litre 3 L engine and 2.4  L turbo diesel engine.
