Toyota will be rethinking its sports car plan. According to the survey results that just came to highlight in Japan, the Honda CR-Z captured far greater interest among the media and also among the public at the October's 2009 Tokyo Motor Show than the Toyota's FT-86 Concept. The Honda CR-Z will be ready to hit the market quite early while the FT-86 will not appear into the market until late in 2011. There will be a redesigned version of this car.
In the beginning MR2 will be built by a mid-mounted 3.3 litre V-6 hybrid which was driving the rear wheels and the electric motors propel the fronts. And at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, Toyota collaborated and made agreement with ItalDesign to create the Alessandro Volta concept car, which was powered by a 3.3-liter hybrid and it is said to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds. While Toyota dropped the MR2 in the year 2007 (this car was also known in Japan as the MR-S), rumors of the revival of this version have been heating up recently, the hybrid version was heading the list. The goal of Toyota MR2 is to design more exciting and handling car. This project will help it tap into what the market really wants. The idea here is to develop a plan for the CR-Z fighter that combines solid performance, high fuel economy and also low emissions they all will be wrapped up in a excitingly styled body. This new prototype will then be named as MR2 which is familiar to enthusiasts around the world.
