The Cockatiel is known as Quarrion and the Weiro, and is the smallest of cockatoo endemic to Australia. They are kept as both household pets and also companion parrots throughout the world. Another good feature of Cocktails are that they are easy to breed. Cocktails are the second popular caged birds all over the world. The cocktail is the only known member of the genus Nymphicus. It was considered as a crested parrot previously or also known as cockatoo, but some recent studies have included into Cockatoo subfamily. Cockteils are native to the outback regions of Finland. It is classified as the smallest of the Cockatoo family. Cocktails are found in the regions of Australian wetlands, scrublands and bush lands.

Cockatiels are native to Australia, they are found largely in arid or semi-arid country, but they are always found in the near water. These species will move or migrate to the place where food and water are available. They are mostly seen in pairs or small flocks. Sometimes, there are hundreds that will flock around a single such body of water. They are normally absent from the fertile southwest and southeast corners of the country, and the deepest Western Australian deserts, and Cape York Peninsula. They are the only present Cockatoo species which can then sometimes reproduce in the end of the first year.
