    Ensure that your WRT160N is set to "Mixed" mode and "Auto" on the channels, also...your reception will degrade depending on the placement of your router.  Are you in a 2 story building/house?  If so, is the router on the 2nd story or 1st story?  The more details you provide, the better I can answer you question.
