the scanner did work but now it will not. When I press the scan button the green ON/Off light flashes for a minute or so then goes solid green again and nothing happens.

I had the same problem and I got it to work. I have Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 on my computer. Here's what I did...
Go to "Start" then "Control Panel". -Click on "Programs and Features". -Scroll down to Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - click on that and then click on the "Change" link above. -A box will pop up, click on "Add or Remove Features" and then click "Continue". -Click on the "+" next to "Office Tools" -Click on the "+" next to "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" -Click on the down arrow next to "Scanning, OCR and Indexing..." -Then, click on "Run from my Computer" -Next click on "Continue" at the bottom of the dialogue box and your configuration process should begin
Once completed go to the start menu and type in "Scan" into the search box. Go to "Microsoft Office Document Scanning" Once there, plug your scanner into you computer, chose what color you want your scan to be in, and click on the picture of the scanner to the right. To make my scans clear, I had to click on "Scanner..." and chose KODAK ESP AiO as my scanner even though I have a KODAK ESP-3 printer/scanner.
I hope these instructions weren't too confusing and I hope this helps some of you out! My scanner was causing me a lot of frustration for a while!
