Legal age to drive in Indonesia?

I am going to Jakarta, Indonesia in a few months. I am not sure about traveling by bus tin the area. I want to explore much of the area. Can I get a car and drive there?

    The legal age of driving in Indonesia is 17 years. For driving in Indonesia you need to take a driving test. But if you have an international driving licence then you only need to get a driving permit. It allows you to drive a private motor vehicle in Indonesia.
