Question:

Murray lawn tractor won't crank

4 weeks ago, I tried to start my Murray lawn tractor up to cut the grass.  When key was turned the engine started to crank but did not turn over.  Got new batter and installed it.  Now when I turn the key, absolutely nothing happens (not even a crank).

Did I disconnect something I should have have when I installed the new battery?  There is a yellow wire with a plastic coupling coming out of the seat switch that is not attached to anything.  I don't know if it should be connected to something.  If so, I don't know what.  I have no idea why the engine won't crank at all.

This may or may not help. First and foremost, try to jump it with a car with the current battery in it. If it cranks and turns then either your battery is dead or you have a weak connection. If nothing happens, start by checking your connections at the solenoid and replace that if needed. (if the solenoid is dead, you should hear some kind of clicking near it when the battery has full power). If that doesn't do the trick then check all of your grounds. If you need further help, feel free to contact me @ GeoQuin4@Comcast.net. I'm not a professional repair tech, but I'll at least try to help you trouble shoot.
