My ceiling fan has a mind of its own. It will light up on its own and start on its own?

   I have a MinkaAire fan with the same problem.  I have tried resetting remote in case it was interference, but noticed lights flicker when on, and at night sometimes glow and flicker, so I checked for shorts.  I had a second electrician take down and *re*-install in case any connections were not secure.  Said first install was done very well, and after second install, same problem.  Tried resetting code on remote again.  No improvement...

   The problem is the reciever in the fan itself. usually due to moisture. It must be replaced and if installed outside, will usually do it again in a short time.
