   The NUS International Relations Office (IRO) forges partnerships with premier institutions around the world
   to enhance NUS’ standing as a world-class institution. In tandem with our vision of becoming a global
   knowledge enterprise, IRO (established in 1996) has developed deep international engagements with many
   peer institutions and fostered interactions and collaborations in education, research and technology that
   benefit our students, staff and stakeholders. Our partners are higher education leaders from all over the
   world, from whom we imbibe international standards and best practices in order to foster a sustained
   culture of excellence on our own campus. Besides the student exchange programmes, IRO also works with
   NUS faculties and schools on other overseas attachments including summer schools, study visitations,
   research exchanges, industrial attachments, administrative staff exchanges, and international conferences.
