Nadal and the abominable abdominal

At the US open Nadal is still carrying a serious abdominal injury. With so many other players at the top of their games can he still be considered a serious contender for the grand slam?

    Outstanding headline Gareth! Yea I think Nadal will be ok. He relies a lot on the power he gets into his shots. He plays an aggressive style from the baseline and will need to put a lot of strain on his abdominal muscles, when he can do without any major discomfort I think he will be ok.

    He’s got a lot of completion in this tournament though. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic all performing, this match might just be a bit soon for Nadal. He will be back to his best soon though I would imagine.
