For the past week or two I have had this pain in the side of my neck and it feels like the pain I get from a nedle in my arm, not the stinging pain when it enters but the other pain like what happens if it stayes there very long. The pain extends up through the side of my face and to my head. I believe I get a little light headed when it hapens, but I have some anxiety problems so the dizzyness may be non related, but it always feels lightheaded when it happens. 21 male.  The pain has happened a few times since then. I was wondering whAt it could possably be, and or if I should see a doc about it.

    Hi,
maybe the word is carotid..that is an artery in the neck. I wonder if it isn't a neuraglia of the artery or arteritis which is an inflammation of an artery. Apirins or ibuprofens are good for inflammation. Try to not worry about it but stay cautious enough to notice if any of the symptoms he described to you show up and if so, get it checked by your doctor or ER. I imagine blurred speech would be a pending stroke...and you would need help fast. Hopefully it will only be inflammation and will go away in time. Make sure your pillow is low enough and comfy to your neck.
