I have a sand box toy that I believe is from the 50's.  It's a rectangular box that has a circus scene, and when the box is rotated several times, the sand driven acrobat tumbles round.  I called the company, but their records are only for the last 20 years.

I once saw these "sand boxes" in an antique book, but what they showed were these boxes from the 1800's.

I've tried several venues to get more informaton with no success.  Can you help?

Its called "Mystery Motion- Man on the Flying Trapeze"  I googled it & found an article in the Hearld Tribune & the makes name is something (spacing his first name) Shackman Jacoby.  The article talks about how he had a toy store & this particular toy didn't sell well b/c it was hard to make so few were made.  My family owns one too.. so I wonder how few were made.  Anyways, hope that helps!
