Shane Watson, a brilliant right-handed batsman and a right-handed fast medium bowler of Australia made a history in Cricket World Record by hitting 15 sixes in any ODI innings. Watson smashed the previous record of Marshall of 12 sixes against Canada.

The match was contested between Australia and Bangladesh in Dhaka. Bangladesh gave a target of 230 for Australia. Australia won the match by losing only a wicket and in 24 overs. In this match, Opener Watson played an unforgettable inning of 185 runs in just 96 balls, with hitting 15 fours and 15 sixes.

He made a world record of 15 sixes in match. Same as his total of 150 runs in boundaries. These 150 runs includes 15 sixes and 15 fours. His percentage (79.7 %) of his team’s score of 1-232 is also the highest of any cricketer. Prior to this, the maximum percentage record was by West Indian player Viv Richards (69.48 %). All this shows that every Australian player is still in top ranking and can do anything any time. Though they didn’t get to the ICC Cricket World Cup final but yet very dangerous team of the world and can give tough time to any team of the world.

    Shane Watson’s Cricket World Records

    • 185 not out from 96 balls is the highest score by an Australian player.

    • 15 sixes, the most by any player in an ODI Inning.
