Sharp pain near left temple

   Hi,
   According to my research, temple pain could be a result of a number of things from very serious to completly harmless. I have had sharp temporal pain a few times in my life that lasted from a few seconds to 20 to 30 seconds and sometimes in intervals over a few minutes, and then it goes away. The closest answer I could find for my problem is called Ice Pick Headaches which are harmless but can cause sudden extreme pain for no apparent reason in a very short period of time (5 to 30 seconds) and then goes away. Whatever the case, though, a doctor visit couldn't hurt due to the possibility of something much more serious.
