   Social media marketing is the hottest buzz word these days but i'm a bit confused. Is social media marketing for social networks or for social causes?

   Social Media marketing refers to the advertising, promoting or selling of any product, service or idea. It encompasses social causes. Change.org , care2.com, greenoplolis.com are all social cause sites that use social media to promote their causes. Sony, Dell, Calvin Klein and other product manufacturers also use social media to promote their brands and products. Consultants like me use social media to promote ideas and services. Politicians and political organizations use social media to raise funds and promote their issues.
