   Hi,
   I hope that you gave the engine a  oil  change and filter and I would use a good brand oil at a 30 wt. or 4 cans of 30 wt and one can of 10-40 and add a can of s.t.p. oil treatment.  Prior to street use than again after apx. 500 miles as you must get all the c**p out of it and replace it with good new clean oil so do that if you have not. And yes it could be the valve seals but most of the time it will foul the heack out of the plugs and the smoke is more on the white side as blue is more twords the fuel mix/ too much fuel or un burnt fuel so re adj. the carb. and change the plugs than see how it is, this should help a lot . OK and if the engine has been sleeping for some time I would take it easy for the first 500 miles till you re-change the oil and a new oil filter you want to get everything nice and lubed up with the new oil.
