    Hi,
The Gaza flotilla clash was a violent confrontation on 31 May 2010 in international waters, in the Mediterranean Sea between pro-Palestinian activists who were heading to break the IDF siege of Gaza and Israeli naval forces. At least 15 activists were killed and Injured with unofficial reports putting the death toll at 14--20. Six Israeli commandos were wounded, two seriously, along with around 60 activists.

The highly-publicized flotilla, organized by the Free Gaza Movement, was planning to attempt to break through the Gaza blockade, despite Israeli declarations that they it would turn the ships back. Live fire ensued during the boarding, with conflicting reports about the circumstances of the violence.
The Israel Defense Forces stated that the activists opened fire on the soldiers with two handguns stolen from the soldiers, while some of the activists stated that soldiers opened fire immediately after boarding and although the ship had raised a white flag, signalling surrender.

Israel said that there were weapons on board, "we found weapons prepared in advance and used against our forces", but activists said that would be impossible considering "all the boats were carefully inspected by the government before they left the port of departure." Al-Jazeera reports that as per images from the ship, the passagers were civilians and peaceful in nature, with medical supplies on board.
