When it comes to fighting then striking someone involves certain risks. Anytime you hit someone there is a possibility of causing permanent damage. If you are attempting to hit pressure points during the fight, this can prove to be very dangerous and can have unexpected results. Any such thing should never be attempted without proper instruction. The practice of pressing a certain point on a person's body is basically aimed to achieve a certain effect. For example, striking the points in the middle of the shoulders, with a good timing and strength one can leave a person incapable to move an arm for a while. Somehow, there is no such hit that paralyzes the whole body other than bashing someone in the head or spine with a blunt instrument as people would do it all the time had it been that much easy. There do happen to be some very common pressure points like one at the back of the neck. It is located a little below the cerebellum and just above the spinal cord and if someone presses it hard enough it could possibly cause the other to be stunned or paralyzed, or for sure will hurt quite badly.
