   Ans) Day of the Dead is day that focuses on the gathering of family and also friends to pray for the family members and friends who have died. It is celebrated in Mexico, as it attains the quality of a National Holiday. The celebration of this day takes place on the November 1st and 2nd, in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day at November 1 and All Souls' Day in the November Traditions which is connected with the holiday that include building private altars that honor the deceased using the sugar skulls, marigolds, and also the favorite foods and beverages of some of the departed and visiting graves with these as a gift. The Day of the Dead is a time of celebration especially when eating and parties are common. This holiday is somewhat similar to All Saints Day.
   
   In many American communities with some Mexican residents, the celebrations of Day of the Dead are held are very similar to those which are held in Mexico. In some of these communities, like Texas and Arizona, the celebrations normally are mostly traditional. For example, the All Souls Procession has been an annually held since the year 1990. The event combines some elements of traditional Day of the Dead celebrations along with those of pagan harvest festivals.
