   SIT provides an industry focused university education in partnership with local polytechnics and reputable overseas universities to produce highly desired graduates for growth sector of the economy. SIT targets to offer places for more than 2,000 full-time students and 1,500 part-time students yearly by 2015. The full-time courses are expected to last approximately 2 years while the part-time courses can be expected to take up to 4 years. While these will be targeted mainly at Singaporean/PR polytechnic graduates, we will also have options for international students who meet our criteria.
   
   Through SIT, polytechnic graduates will be able to upgrade themselves without travelling overseas. The overall cost of attaining a degree will be lower as these programmes are conducted locally. The government will also provide subsidies for the programmes. The tuition fees for the programmes will vary from programme to programme but in total will be comparable to that of the local universities.
