Biological reason for left-handedness was presented by Geschwind theory, which was propagated by neurologist Norman Geschwind. He was of the view, that human fetal brain is shaped and developed during pregnancy, due to the variations in the level of testosterone. Testosterone, basically suppresses the growth of right hemisphere, which results in the migration of more neurons to the right hemisphere. Right hemisphere as a result develops in a better way and assumes a better function as the center of language and handedness. Therefore, in such a situation, the human fetus has maximum chances to become left-handed, as the right hemisphere controls the left half of the human body. On the basis of this reasoning, Geschwind theory holds high levels of testosterones, the main source of left-handedness. Though It is interesting to know, that left-handedness sometimes runs in families
