     Comments made by Jeffries in a 2006 interview with a publication called Salon which have recenty emerged are what has landed the A&F CEO in some serious hot water. The parts of the interview that have really struck a cord (and rightfully so) pertain to Jeffries' comments on A&F's target market and more importantly who he feels 'do not belong in our clothes'. This group includes 'uncool teens and overweight women'. 


    According to Jeffries, his clothes are made for attractive people and a bias towards physical attractiveness is something that is deeply a part of the corporate philosophy and culture:


    “That’s why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone other than that."
