   Know and understand this - football and your team's version of it have to become your complete obsession and life. It is not uncommon for coaches to have couches or sleeping quarters at their place of work as they log 18 hour days at the team facility preparing for the next opponent or self-auditing their own game tape and practice notes. Coaches are required to be meticulous planners and be extremely detail oriented in order to create mismatches and not be exploited in the same light be the opposing coach. It is a life that can absolutely exhaust you unless it means everything to you. Expect to spend more time in tape rooms or team meetings than you do with your family.
