   The Toyota Premio is a compact sedan which is sold in Japan by the Toyota company as designated by the Japanese regulations concerning the exterior dimensions and the engine displacement.
   
   The Premio is a much upscale, and more luxurious sedan in comparison of the Toyota Allion sedan, which offers a more youthful, and also the sporting nature. Both of these vehicles were introduced at the same time. Wood trim and silver accents gives this Premio the elegant look and it is also considered to be a family or the executive type car. Appearance modification options were made for the Allion and are not made or marketed for the Premio.
   
   In terms of class, the Premio is now designed to fill in the gap between the front wheel drive sedans and the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Camry.
   
   The Premio is a successor of the Toyota Corona and also the Corona Premio. The first generation of Premio was launched in the month of December 2001. It was then offered in three engine sizes which are 1.5L, 1.8L and the 2.0L. In the year 2005, the Premio saw a minor refresh which now most evident in the updated brake lights.
   
   The 2nd generation of Premio went on to sale in the year 2007. It still continues to fill in the gap between the Corolla and Camry, and offers a more expensive look than the previous. The engine size offering is almost still the same as 1.5L, 1.8L and 2.0L. In the year 2010, Premio received a face light with the minor changes that are made to the front bumper, grille and the headlamp cluster. The most of these significant changes were the inclusion of a LED in the rear lamp cluster.
