"A stomach ulcer which is also known as a peptic ulcer is a little hole in the gastrointestinal part. The most widespread kind, duodenal, happens in the first 12 inches of little intestine after the stomach. Ulcers that pattern in the stomach are called gastric ulcers. An ulcer is not deadly or cancerous. Duodenal ulcers are nearly habitually benign, while stomach ulcers may become malignant.

The dominant sign of an ulcer is a flaming or gnawing feeling in the stomach that lasts between 30 minutes and 3 hours. This painful situation is often understood as heartburn, indigestion or hunger. This pain generally happens in the top abdomen, but occasionally it may happen underneath the breastbone. In some persons the pain happens right after eating. In other persons, the pain may not happen until hours after eating. The pain often awakens the individual at night. Weeks of pain may be pursued by weeks of not having pain. Pain can be reassured by consuming milk, eating, relaxing, or taking antacids."
