   I n my opinion the unique charactesitic of mitosis is that Chromosome number remains the same in original and daughter cell.
   
   Some other characteristics of mitosis are that it is associated with growth and repair, Only one cell division occurs during mitosis, Two daughter cells are produced,  and it involves replication of chromosomes and the daughter cells are identical to parent cell.
   
   Mitosis is generally the replication of cells that are identical to the parent cell, so from 1 cell you get 2 identical cells.
