"Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) creates it difficult for the patient to breath. Coughing up mucus is always the first symptom of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Chronic bronchitis and emphysema are widespread COPDs.

In this disease patient’s airways grow out within the lungs like an upside-down tree. At the edge of each branch are little, just like balloon air bags. In a healthy person, both the airways and air sacs are flexible and stretchy. When you inhale, each air bag in your lung loads up with air like a little balloon. The balloon gets empty when you exhale. In COPD, the patient’s airways and air bags become out of shape and get floppy, like a stretched-out rubber band.

Smoking is a very main origin of COPD. Living and breathing in other types of inconveniences, like contamination in air, dust or chemicals, may furthermore origin or assist to COPD. Avoidance from smoking is the best way to prevent evolving COPD.

Treatment can provide more comfort to the patient, but there is no cure of this disease in medical science."
